Embarking on a journey to fill our homes with natural fragrances and a touch of elegance, reed diffusers have become our go-to. They do their magic so subtly, effortlessly filling the air with our chosen scents. But, here's a little secret: the real magic lies in the base oil. Picking the right one can transform your space, blending the delightful dance of scents with a commitment to sustainability and wellness. So, as we delve into the realm of diffuser reeds, let's discover together the best base oils. These aren't just about keeping our homes smelling wonderful—they're a nod to our dedication to a healthier, greener way of living. Ready to start this fragrant voyage with us?
At the core of every fragrant home, you'll find not just diffuser reeds, but the unsung hero behind the scenes: the base oil. It's this foundational liquid that carries the scent, quietly determining the ambiance of our spaces. Picking the perfect base oil is so much more than chasing a lovely smell; it's about enriching the soul of our homes. That signature scent that makes our space feel like a sanctuary? It's deeply shaped by the choice of base oil. This choice touches everything from how long the fragrance lingers to the quality of the air we breathe in our personal havens. Every drop counts in crafting an atmosphere that's uniquely ours, making the selection of base oil an essential step in curating our personal oasis.
Picking the right base oil for your reed diffuser feels like starting a journey into a fragrant, blooming garden. You're looking for that perfect mix that not only smells amazing but also fits what you believe in and complements your home perfectly. Here's a simple guide to help you explore the wide world of base oils, so you can find one that enhances your essential oils and makes your space feel just right.
Let's talk about the fragrance you dream of for your room. Every base oil comes with its own unique scent personality to the table, from utterly neutral whispers to gentle natural hints. Your mission? To find that perfect base oil that either beautifully complements or quietly supports the essential oils you adore. Diving into diffuser experimentation can be a real adventure, especially if you're just getting acquainted with all the possibilities. And don't forget, fragrance is a personal journey—what enchants one person might not whisper the same way to another.
The feel of your base oil matters a lot—think of it as the oil's thickness or viscosity. It's a big deal because it affects how your reed diffuser performs. If the oil's too thick, it might not wick up the reeds properly, making your diffuser less effective. But if it's too thin, it could just evaporate into thin air way too quickly. What you're looking for is that Goldilocks zone—just the right thickness that ensures your diffuser works its magic effectively, giving you that perfect scent distribution and lasting fragrance. Feeling a bit puzzled? Don't worry, there's a wealth of guides out there, and your local specialty store is always a good shout for personalized advice.
Opting for green isn't just trendy; it's crucial now more than ever. The good news? When it comes to base oils, there's a wealth of natural and kind-to-the-earth options available. Aim for those made with renewable resources and minimal processing. Choosing these not only helps shield our planet but also keeps our living spaces free from harsh chemicals. And there's a genuine joy in knowing the lovely aroma in your home is a result of earth-friendly choices.
Take a plunge into the sea of options out there! From timeless favorites like lavender and rosemary to the latest innovations crafted just for reed diffusers, there's a whole world of products waiting for you. There's an ideal bottle for every want and need, offering the optimal scent experience for your space. Why not venture into something new on your next refill? You never know, your next favorite bottle could be just around the corner, waiting to fill your home with its unique fragrance.
In the end, finding the perfect base oil boils down to what feels right for you. Maybe you have a scent in mind, or perhaps you're on the lookout for a product that's easy to find nearby or fits snugly within your budget. Rest assured, there's a choice out there that ticks all your boxes. When you tailor your pick to align with your personal tastes and needs, you're setting yourself up for a reed diffuser experience that feels just right, through and through.
Imagine creating a scent that's uniquely yours, a signature fragrance that whispers stories of your home. It's all about mixing and matching, experimenting with different base oils and essential oils until you find that perfect melody of aromas. Consider the rich, nutty tones of almond oil paired with the zest of citrus essential oils for a fresh, invigorating vibe. Or maybe the gentle, soothing quality of jojoba oil combined with lavender for a relaxing retreat. The beauty is in the blend, the quality of your choices, and the joy of making something that's entirely your own. Let your creativity flow and craft a scent that truly represents your space.

Aromatherapy is an ancient practice that uses the scents of various plants to enhance wellness. In recent decades, aromatherapy has become increasingly popular as a form of alternative medicine and holistic treatment.
There are many ways to get the benefits of aromatherapy. You may choose to use one or more methods simultaneously, depending on your requirements and preferences.
In this blog post, we'll explore ways to incorporate aromatherapy into your daily life and routine.
Oil burners with candle wax - If you have an oil burner, you can purchase jar candles that have been created specifically for aromatherapy. These candles are made with a high percentage of natural wax and essential oils. The candles usually come in small containers that fit on top of your diffuser and burn for about an hour or two.
Once you've chosen an oil burner, fill it with water and place a few drops of essential oil on the wick or candle wax. The flame will slowly vaporize the oil into the air, creating a relaxing atmosphere for you and anyone else who may be around.
Adding essential oils to baths or foot soaks. Muscle aches and pains from exercise or overuse can be relieved by adding a couple of drops of essential oil to your bathwater.
It can also help relax sore muscles after exercise because heat helps loosen tight muscles and increase blood flow. Another approach to unwind while treating dry skin on your feet is to add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your foot soak.
Putting a few drops on a pillowcase. If you want to try aromatherapy but don't know where to begin, start small by putting a few drops of oil onto your pillowcase before bedtime — this will help relax you as you fall asleep. After a week or two, add another oil to your routine until you've found one (or two) that works best for you.
If you just need something to make yourself feel happier, try adding Sweet Orange Essential Oil to your pillowcase—citrus scents are known as uplifting scents because they can boost moods while reducing feelings of anxiety and depression.
Alternatively, you could also use pillow mists to spritz directly onto your pillowcase for something more subtle and specially formulated to lull one to sleep.
Diffusing essential oils. Diffusing essential oils in your home or work place is among the simplest methods to use them. Just place a few drops in a diffuser and enjoy the benefits of the essential oils as they fill your space with their calming scent.
Aromatherapy diffusers are simple to operate, and they can quickly fill a room with your chosen fragrance. You'll want to use distilled water and high-quality essential oils for the best results.
Put a few drops on cotton balls or tissues and place them around the room where you want to scent it—or carry one in your pocket for when you're on the go! This is especially useful if you have trouble sleeping at night because it's hard for smells to permeate through closed windows.
One of the best methods to unwind and soothe your body is through massage, whether you do it by yourself or with someone else. If you're going to give yourself an aromatherapy massage, mix up some essential oils that can help you feel more relaxed. Some good ones include lavender oil, chamomile oil, rosemary oil, and sandalwood oil. You could also use a blend of these essential oils if you'd like to try something new!
Many massage therapists incorporate essential oils into their sessions because they're beneficial for both the body and mind. The scent of lavender can help calm nerves and relieve muscle tension, while peppermint oil helps people focus more easily on their work.
Aromatherapy candles burn at a lower temperature than traditional candles, which means they're safer and less likely to cause fires or burns. They also last longer than most other candles because they're made with more wax and less air space.
Aromatherapy candles can be used to create a relaxing atmosphere. They are a cheap and easy way to help you sleep and can also help you focus, which is especially important if you're working on something mentally demanding, such as studying or writing an essay. Never leave a burning candle unattended so do remember put out the flame before falling asleep!
We have listed a few ways to use aromatherapy for mental wellness, but there are many more. Different oils can be used for different purposes—for example; lavender is good for anxiety and stress relief. If you’re interested in exploring this topic further, we recommend checking out our blog post on essential oils and their uses.
It's important to note that aromatherapy is not about covering up the smell of something you don't like, such as pet odor. It's about creating an environment that promotes relaxation and well-being.

Many different kinds of scents can help you unwind after a long day. Some people prefer aromatherapy oils, while others prefer natural essential oils.
Here are some of our favorite scents that will help you relax when nothing else seems to work:
Lavender is a popular choice for relaxation, and it's not hard to see why. This natural oil has been shown to reduce stress hormones, improve sleep quality and even help with anxiety. It also smells good.
How to use it: Add a drop or two of lavender essential oil to your bathwater; you can also mix it with coconut oil before applying it to your skin as a massage oil or diffuse the scent in your bedroom at night to help you relax and sleep better.
Rosemary oil is a natural stimulant and can help you unwind by keeping you alert and focused. It's also been shown to be good for muscle pain, so it's worth using if you're feeling stiff from being on your feet all day at work or school.
For optimum results, disperse rosemary oil into the air or apply it straight to the skin. If you want something more powerful than rosemary essential oil but don't want anything too overpowering, try applying rosemary mixed with lavender oil—both are soothing and relaxing oils that won't cause any irritation when they come in contact with sensitive areas like the scalp or sinuses.
Peppermint is a sweet, refreshing aroma that can help you relax, unwind, and promote a good night's sleep. Lemongrass is an essential oil that has a refreshing citrus scent. It's also a great summer scent since it reminds us of the days when we could relax by the pool with our friends and family.

Stress is a common cause of mental health issues like anxiety and depression. It can also contribute to other physical problems, like heart disease and ulcers. Stress can come from many sources, including work or family responsibilities, challenges with money, relationships, or the loss of a loved one.
To get the most out of your day's activities, it is important to get enough sleep. Your body needs adequate rest to rejuvenate itself and perform at its best.
The recommended amount of sleep varies from person to person and depends on various factors such as age, gender, and lifestyle choices (like exercise).
A decent starting point is to feel sleepy about an hour before going to bed at night.
If you are unable to fall asleep when it's time for lights out, consider setting an alarm clock that will wake you up after 20 minutes so that you can go back into bed without worrying about oversleeping in the morning.
It's also important not to use electronics within three hours before going to bed because they emit blue light, which signals your brain that it's still daytime outside rather than time for restful slumbering with dreams full of happy unicorns and rainbows.
While getting more sleep may seem like a luxury today, with busy schedules and commitments pulling us away from our beds at night,
taking care of your mental well-being means making sure these activities are balanced properly with everything else going on around us, so you don't burn out prematurely from exhaustion or stress levels being too high throughout your life.
Spending time with people you care about is one of the best ways to improve your mental well-being.
This is especially important if you are feeling low or anxious, as a loved one can help you feel cared for and supported when things get tough.
You may also find that spending time with someone who is in a similar situation as you makes it easier for them to understand how you're feeling.
You must, in order to be your best self, make sure that you're doing things that make you happy.
You don't have to do anything special or exciting—just find something that makes you happy and do it! If something comes up and there's no time for fun with friends, it's okay. Just take a walk, listen to music or read a book by yourself.
Eating well gives you a healthy mind, body, and spirit. A balanced diet is important for everyone, especially for people experiencing mental health issues.
Try to eat fruit and vegetables every day. Make sure you get at least five portions of fruit or vegetables each day - this could be one portion of fruit and four portions of vegetable, or two portions each, depending on what you like.
Try to make at least one portion part of your main meal - such as salad with your lunch or an apple with your breakfast cereal.
Choose wholegrain foods instead of refined carbohydrates, as these will provide slow-release energy rather than causing spikes in blood sugar levels which can leave you feeling tired and irritable afterward. Wholegrain foods are also rich in fiber which helps keep bowels regular, so you'll feel better too!
Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Exercise can help you sleep better, boost your mood, and help you cope with anxiety and depression.
There are also many other health benefits of exercise that are beneficial for mental health, like lowering blood pressure or reducing the risk of heart disease.
How much should I exercise? It's recommended that adults get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity every week (or 75 minutes per week if you choose vigorous-intensity activities). Try to include some muscle strengthening in those 150 minutes too! If this seems too much, start small – even 5-10 minutes at a time is better than nothing!
Letting go of anger and resentment can be difficult, but forgiving others and yourself is important.
If you're struggling with forgiving someone who has hurt or wronged you, try writing a letter to them in which you express what happened and how it made you feel.
You can also write about your thoughts and feelings on the situation. Once finished, tear up or burn the letter so that no one else reads it—this is for your eyes only!
Finally, consider forgiving the world for all its wrongs as well as all its goodness and love. Give yourself permission to sense God's presence in your life—this may mean praying or meditating each day until this becomes second nature and part of your daily routine.
Stay positive. Though it's alluring to focus on the bad, try your best to stay focused on the positive. Though it may be a challenge, doing so will help you see things in an optimistic light and keep your mind from becoming overwhelmed by worry or negativity.
Know your limits. Don't feel pressured into doing more than you can handle; remember that boundaries are important! If something is causing you distress or stress, take steps to resolve it as quickly as possible, whether taking a break from work or calling someone for support.
Taking a warm shower with shower steamers can have a positive impact on your mental well-being.
The warm water from the shower can help to relax your muscles and ease tension in your body, making you feel more relaxed and calm. The steam generated by the shower steamers can help to open up your sinuses and clear your mind. The essential oils released by the steamers can also provide aromatherapy benefits, promoting feelings of calm and relaxation. The scents of eucalyptus, peppermint and lavender are known to have a soothing effect on the mind and can help to reduce stress and anxiety.
Additionally, the act of taking a warm shower can be a form of self-care, a time for yourself to unwind and relax. Overall, taking a warm shower with shower steamers can be a simple yet effective way to improve your mental well-being.
We hope these tips help you to achieve a more positive outlook on life. Remember, it’s not always easy.
But if you can stay focused on your goals and keep yourself grounded in reality—not just your dreams—you will be much better off.

This can be as simple as going for an hour-long stroll with your dog or partner or taking the kids to the park and playing on the swing set. Nature walks can relax the mind by smelling the natural scents in the environment, especially in a flower garden or the park. Scents also invoke and improves memory.
You could also go outside and sit on your front porch; there's something so relaxing outside while the sun sets.
Walking is great because it gives you both physical exercise and mental relaxation: not only do you get to enjoy nature while taking in the fresh air, but by concentrating on walking forward through each step, you can clear your mind from any thoughts that may be occupying it and find yourself feeling calmer afterward.
A massage is a great way to relax and get your circulation flowing. It can also improve your quality of sleep and release tension. Ensure the use of therapeutic oils for the massage to achieve great results. Our website provides you with various options that are great for relaxation.
But don’t expect results from just one massage. Massage is known for being a great stress reliever, but it won't necessarily improve your blood pressure or decrease inflammation on its own.
If you want the benefits of massage, make sure you have more than one session every few months—and be sure that whoever gives you the massage knows how to do it properly (this could mean they have experience or certification).
Music is a great way to relax, especially if you love listening to music or have specific songs that calm you down.
Music and scents are often combined to help you relax and unwind. Some people listen to music while they take a bath or shower, creating a relaxing environment. The right blend of music and scent can create a sense of calmness in your mind, body, and soul.
Many different types of music work well with different types of fragrances. For example, classical music is often paired with woodsy scents like rose or sandalwood.
Music also plays an important role in helping us unwind and relax after a long day at work or school. A playlist full of soft piano melodies and relaxing background sounds can help put us in a more positive state of mind while we work or study on our computers or phones (or anywhere else).
Herbal teas are made from herbs and plants and have been used for thousands of years in traditional medicine. Drinking herbal teas is one of the best ways to get these health benefits:
Antioxidants can help battle free radicals that cause cancer. Free radicals are molecules that damage healthy cells in your body.
They’re often linked to aging, cell damage, or chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.
Because antioxidants work by reducing these harmful agents on their own or with other compounds in your body, they may reduce your risk for cancer and other health issues like Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson's disease.
Herbal tea has anti-inflammatory properties too. If you're looking for something that reduces inflammation, herbal teas can do just that.
Some studies suggest this powerful beverage could help relieve arthritis symptoms because it prevents an enzyme called cyclooxygenase from producing prostaglandins (prostaglandins are inflammatory mediators) — which means less pain.
Meditation, one of the most common forms of relaxation, has been shown to reduce stress, increase self-esteem, improve focus and productivity, and boost mood. It can also help you sleep better.
It has been used for centuries in various forms and traditions worldwide. It has been used by many cultures and religions as a way to connect with Nature and the Divine. It has also been used as a form of self-help and a way to promote health and well-being.
Many different types of scents can be used during your meditation practice. The first step is choosing which scent you would like to use for your practice session
People who are stressed or anxious may tense up in their muscles, which can exacerbate the condition. Soaking in a warm tub of water is an easy way to release some of that tension, especially if accompanied by soothing music and scented candles.
Fill up some hot water with bubbles or bath salts added in; add some scented candles around the edge, so they give off relaxing scents and light without causing too much heat. You can easily find all natural, fresh, and nontoxic scented candles here on our website.
Put on your favorite music while taking your bath, and the flicker of light from the candles add ambiance! It will make the beginning part of your relaxing experience even better.
Once out of the tub, wrap yourself up in towels (or put on furry slippers) and lie down on your bed with another towel over the top, so it feels like being wrapped up inside a cocoon - so cozy!
Don’t have a bath tub? Do the next best thing and take a long and warm shower! First, set the mood: Dim the lights and play some calming music to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Take the time to enjoy the warm water and let it relax your muscles. Have the experience of a bath using shower steamers: Sprinkle them into a corner of the shower (not in the direct path of water) and let the essential oils work their magic while you experience the most relaxing shower ever! Whilst enjoying the aromatherapy of the shower steamers, practice deep breathing: Take slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth to help clear your mind and relax your body.
You can also use a loofah or washcloth by gently scrubbing your skin in circular motions to exfoliate and stimulate circulation. Finish your shower with a few minutes of cool water to invigorate and refresh your skin.

Candles are also useful as nightlights in hallways or bathrooms where you might not want to leave the bathroom light on all night. But if you're not careful, it's easy for things to go wrong with candles.
Candles can be a fire hazard when they're not used correctly so here are some tips on how to safely burn your candles:
We know that it can be tempting to leave a candle burning while you go to sleep or run an errand. They are not 100% reliable and may go out or tip over any time.
Never leave the flame unattended for extended periods (over 5 minutes). Always ensure someone else is in the room with you, and keep an eye on your candle now and then.
Never leave a burning candle overnight or during a power outage. If something happens, and your house catches fire because of an unattended candle, it will be much more devastating without any electricity around.
It's important to keep candles away from anything that can catch fire. Always place candles on heat-resistant surfaces that won't catch fire if they get too hot (like metal or ceramic bowls).
Avoid putting them on wood surfaces or anything else flammable. You'll also want to avoid burning them directly on or near curtains, clothes, paper, books and other flammable items.
Keep pets and children away from candles.
Pets have been known to knock down lit candles which can cause fires if they land on anything flammable such as carpeting or bedding material.
On the other hand, small children may try playing with them by lighting their own little "fires."Ensure children and pets cannot reach the candle by keeping it on a high table or shelf when burning it.
A wick that is too long can cause a fire to burn too quickly, leading to smoke and soot buildup on your walls or ceiling.
A wick that is too short might not burn well enough, resulting in uneven burning or smoking up your house without producing any light.
An easy way to prevent fire risk is by keeping your wick trimmed. As a general rule, you should trim your wick every time before you light a candle and after it has been extinguished. If the wick becomes too long, trim it down to 1/4 inch before lighting again.
Candleholders are made to prevent the flame from tipping over, burning too hot, and dripping wax onto your table or furniture.
For example, if you place a candle in a standard vase or glass and it tips over while burning, you could likely end up with a fire hazard in your hands.
Do not blow into the flame; use a snuffler to put out the candle. Allow the wax pool to cool before cleaning up any wax drippings with a paper towel.
Try dabbing them with a dry towel when dealing with wax stains on clothing.
Candle safety is a huge topic, and it's important to consider all the different aspects of burning candles safely.
We hope that this has been a helpful guide for you to keep your candles safe and enjoyable. If there is anything else we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to contact us on our website here.

There are three main perfume notes, including top notes (the initial aroma), middle notes (the heart of the scent) and base notes (the lingering smell). These notes are blended to create the final fragrance.
The type of note you prefer will help you narrow down your choices. Once you know what notes you like, try to identify them in your favourite scents.
You might prefer floral or fruity scents or something muskier and spicier. Think about what kind of notes appeal to you most when choosing scents.
Don't just go by marketing when choosing the right scent— try it out before buying it. Utilise the testers available so you can test it on yourself before purchasing it in bulk.
It's important to rest your sense of smell while you test. When you've been smelling the same scent for an extended period, your nose becomes fatigued and can't process the information as clearly.
Try taking a break every 10 minutes or so and then coming back to sniffing —this will allow some time for fatigue-causing molecules to clear from your nasal cavity before you resume smelling again. Smelling coffee beans also helps.
Scents are powerful and can evoke memories and emotions, create a mood or environment, and even change the way you feel about yourself. It can even improve your memory.
Before you choose a perfume, think about what you want to achieve with it—are you aiming for an energy boost, a boost in confidence or a new outlook on life?
In order for a scent to be effective, it needs to match your emotional state. If you're feeling tired, lethargic and uninspired, but also content and happy in your life, then the scent of fresh cut grass will only make you feel even more lethargic.
On the other hand, smelling like clean laundry won't be enough if you're feeling like your life is full of passion and excitement—or even just trying to project that image.
One of the best ways to improve your fragrance is to try new scents. Don't be afraid to ask for help; don't fear what people might think about your choice.
The perfect scent is an individual thing; even if someone else may not like it, that doesn't mean it's wrong for you. Trying different scents will give you a better idea of what works best with your body chemistry.
You can also try mixing different perfumes or layering delicate floral notes over deeper base notes to create something unique that no one else has discovered yet.
Consider buying scented candles that match this aesthetic if you're decorating your living room with modern furniture and accessories. If you're more interested in having fun with colour, don't be afraid to look at candle holders in bright hues like red or green.
There are hundreds of different fragrances out there, but the beauty of this type of product is that they can be changed as often as you like.
So, if autumn is your favourite season, why not make sure your home smells like it too? And when spring comes around again, simply change the scent to reflect the season.
Take note that some scents work better in warm climates than in cold ones.
It can be hard to decide what scent is right for you and it may not be the most convenient to travel down to a physical store. But luckily, there are plenty of opinions and reviews online.
Check out reviews on sites like this for information about different scents, or Google Maps for real reviews by real users.
When choosing a scent for your home, think about what you want to achieve. Do you want to create a relaxing space, or do you want something uplifting?
If you’re looking for something calming and soothing, choose an aroma with floral notes. If you want an uplifting fragrance, opt for citrus or woody scents.
We hope these tips have made you more confident in choosing the perfect scent for you. In case you need more information, our blog contains more. Here's to finding your perfect scent.
]]>It should not be surprising that memory and smell have a close relationship. People frequently claim that the sense of smell brings back memories so vividly that they feel as though they are having the event again.
How do scents make your memory stronger?
“Smell is the most potent sense and the only one having a direct neurological link to the brain. The smell receptors in the nose communicate with the same parts of the brain that store memories and regulate emotions. It also influences several physiological reactions. This is why inhaling an aroma can instantly enhance our appetite, elicit a powerful feeling, or conjure up memories of a particular person or place.”

For both wicks, it is important to burn your candles until the wax has completely melted to the edges of the glass if you would like the best results. Both wick types can be burned in various ways, but the best way is to burn them all until your candles have made a complete melting circle.
Wooden wicks for candles create an authentic bonfire-like crackling sound; however, they require a great deal of care and attention. Yes! Keeping wooden Wicks in good shape takes a lot of care and maintenance, but it will be worth the effort once you become accustomed to them. On the other hand, cotton wicks are cotton strands dipped in wax and are typically less expensive and easier to maintain.
Wood and cotton wicks ignite easily upon the first lighting; however, wooden wicks need a bit more care and time on the second and subsequent lightings, while cotton wicks are more of a grab-and-go candle.
If you trim the wick, the candle will light in 3 seconds, while wooden wicks may take up to 20 seconds to light, or it may even take 2-3 attempts as they require more time to burn through the outermost charred layers of wood.
Candles with wooden wick candles are nearly impossible to light with a match. When using matches on lighting your candles, there is insufficient flame and insufficient time because the fire has a short reach to the wooden wick. Even fireplace matches may not be effective. There will be so much match debris in your candle wax that it will become a fire hazard if you don't hold the flame on the wooden wick.
We recommend purchasing a Stick lighter (Link Here) if you're thinking about buying a wooden wick candle.
Cotton wicks are much easier to light using a match cause even a tiny flame is enough to light a cotton wick candle.
The wooden wick and the cotton wick will both struggle in a windy environment, so we recommend lighting your candle indoors with an air conditioner. The erratic flame will consume more of your candle when you burn candles outside and create black soot and smoke.
Wooden wicks are not recommended for outdoor use since they are more easily extinguished by light wind pressure and harder to relight.
Cotton wicks can be used in an outdoor setting, but they will still struggle and burn more rapidly and irregularly.
If you burn candles with a wooden wick, they have a very pleasing aroma throw since it helps warm the wax around the edge of the candle instead of just burning it off quickly with a tall flame.
With a horizontal flame, wooden wicks produce more heat, infusing more fragrance into your candle and giving off a more aromatic scent.
If you use cotton wick candles, a taller flame is likely to quickly burn all the fragrances from the wax. You may notice that following an intense burn or if the candle has burned longer than 4 hours at a time, subsequent burns will be less scented.
As directed on most candle warning labels, trim your wicks to 0.3-0.5cm and burn your candles in 1-2 hour increments.
Candles with wooden wicks have a lower, smoldering flame, which will consume your candle at a slower rate and thus burn longer! Many factors are involved, including the correct wick size for the candle, whether it's burned in optimal conditions, and if the wick is trimmed correctly.
In general, candles with multiple wicks, whether wooden or cotton, burn more quickly than candles with centered wicks.
If you're a candle maker, cotton wicks provide so much more versatility. You can test your scent formulas. Wick size for the vessel is just mostly a matter of increasing or decreasing the size of your wick.
But if you're willing to put in more effort to test wooden wicks in your candles, they can be breathtaking with excellent ambiance, shelf appeal, and added value!
Lynk Artisan Candles yields a comfortable experience of traveling in different places at the comfort of your home and enjoying yourself: the warm embrace of relaxation and the touch of nature because of its soothing aroma that invigorates your senses.

Wooden wick candles provide a comfortable and warm atmosphere with their illumination and crackling sounds. Wooden wicks are quite tricky and need a little care and attention compared to cotton wicks. When you choose wood wicks you simply add a bit of life and happiness to your candle.
Wooden wicks throw fragrance wider, as they can diffuse heat more rapidly into the wax, helping to achieve a more even burn over time compared to the cotton wick. Also, wooden wicks are able to create wider melt pools that are clean and even burn due to their wide base compared to the traditional cotton wicks but there are steps that are needed to consider and put into practice for you to enjoy your wooden wick candle’s lovely scent and flame consistently.
At Lynk Artisan, The wooden wicks we use in our candles are grown from native sappy trees from sustainable plantations certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), hand-crafted, and made in the USA, ensuring responsible global practice. The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable. When you purchase a wooden wick candle from Lynk Artisan, know that you are consuming your wooden wick candles responsibly.
Trimming the wick
To start with, make sure your wooden wick is about 0.3cm – 0.5cm tall because it is especially important to prevent the flame from getting too big because it can consume your candle faster and blacken your jar. In addition, the flame is drawing the wax upwards through the wick, so if it's not trimmed short and clean, the wax can't make it to the flame.
Once lit, it’s very important to let your candle burn until the pool of melted wax reaches the edges of the jar. As a rule of thumb, burn your candle for 1-2 hours the first time you light it. This is called the “memory" burn and usually takes about 1-2 hours. Doing a proper memory burn ensures you will get the longest life and cleanest burn out of your candle.
Take note: Wooden wicks are organic so some parts might be harder to light up.
Do not overburn your candles because as the wax is being consumed, the wick gets longer thus the flame gets bigger. If the wick is too long, the balance of heat and fuel will be off. This throws off the chemical reaction and can produce excess soot and smoke.
After the melted wax has reached the edges, do not blow out your candle, instead, use a candle snuffer or lid cover to extinguish the flame and let it cool.
It is very important that once cooled, you gently pinch or pluck the carbon from the wick, either with wick trimmers or between your fingers, and shorten the wick back to about 0.3 – 0.6cm. When it reaches the bottom when it's hard to reach you can use nail clippers. In order for optimal burning, the wick must always be trimmed.
Take note: If you don’t trim your wick, black bits will fall into the melt pool making it less aesthetically pleasing.
When burning the candle for a long period of time you notice the flame height getting too low, it may be necessary to tap off any excess ash or burnt wood along the top of the wick. The flame will then return to its proper optimal height.
Please do take note that the candle maker (chandler) can control widthness and thickness of the wick, but wick height is controlled by the user itself because, after each burn, the level of wax is decreased due to consumption, but the wick is not, so the wick’s height increases after each burn.
When the Wick’s height increases → flame height increases → more heat is generated → which leads to issues like a candle being too hot, black soot, or even broken glass.
So in all candle guides, they always mention trimming the wick before each burn.
→ Keep the wood wick at 3mm-4mm at all times.
→ if the flame is higher than 15mm, extinguish, let it cool, trim the wick even shorter
→ if while burning you notice soot, extinguish it, let it cool, trim the wick even shorter
NOTE: In case you might have over trimmed your wick and are facing tunneling issues you may check this link https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSJoLF7ja/
Do take note that when putting out your candle with the above methods, wait until the entire surface of the candle has melted before putting out the candle. Doing otherwise causes tunneling and it is a huge No-No! We will be sharing more about tunnelling in our next article!

Happy New Year from Lynk Artisan family!
It is our house blend of virgin coconut wax from USA and a very special palm wax from Indonesia. Both waxes are melted down and then blended together and letting cool to solidify. Because of its arduous process, this is our unique selling point and we are the only indie brand that uses this blend.
The palm wax is added as an additive to increase the performance and longevity of the candle. Thus, our candles have a slightly longer burn time compared to others of similar sizes. This is a trade secret of how most luxury candles are made to have superior quality and performance. Another thing that makes us unique is that this palm wax is specially formulated for a huge fashion house (can’t be named because of NDA) Because of certain lucky connections that we have, we are able to get our hands on this liquid gold.
This is also the same reason why we have problems keeping our candles in stock, this “liquid gold” is hard to come by at times. Coconut wax and palm wax are both known for its superior quality over other waxes among the chandler circle. And together, they are unbeatable.
Isn’t palm the cause of deforestation?
Yes it is! However, we are not a huge fan of forest fires as well! But those that create forest fires are mostly illegal companies. Our supplier is a member of the RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil) since 2004.
Established in 2004, RSPO is an international membership organisation that unites stakeholders from the key sectors of the palm oil industry to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil through credible global standards. Their founding members include the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Malaysian palm oil Association (MPOA), Unilever, Migros and AAK. It also have representatives in the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, China and Colombia.

]]>First thing's first, when you light your candle for the first time, let it burn for at least two to four hours until the wax pool is full (till the edges of the jar)
After that, extinguish your candle by removal of oxygen (putting the lid on) not by blowing. The scent will linger on for a while, but most importantly, you allow the melted wax to cool. Therefore, not consuming so much wax during this burns session!
Next, always trim your candle's wick to 1/4 inch (about 5-7mm) before your next use. Why you may ask? Because this necessary step will control the size of the fire so the candle will not burn too hot. For safety and also to not burn off the wax too fast.
Candle's burn time will depend on its size but with Lynk Artisan Candles, you can look forward to its prolonged burn time. Our palm coco creme wax can last two times that of paraffin wax!
With the cooling of wax and trimming methods, our 100g candles have a burn time of up to 30 hours. (Or even more if done well) And we also have our 200g candles that could burn up till a whooping 60 hours. Now, that's lit!
But as much as we want to have our "let there be candle lights" moment, we have to put our safety first because we are still dealing with fire. Even though we have tested thousands of candles, we have even burned candles straight for days during our testing phase (but please don’t do this at home)
Don't leave your candle/s unattended.
We hope all of the above-mentioned would have been helpful for you!
Now, go forth and light up!
What is Paraffin Wax and how is it obtained?
Paraffin wax is a byproduct of petroleum. Before it becomes wax, crude oil needs to undergo a dewaxing and a chemical bleaching process which produces paraffin wax as a waste product. It is then used as the main ingredient in producing paraffin wax candles and other things like cosmetics, electrical insulators, polishes and wax paper.
